FAQ

Where are JD Skiles trailers and systems manufactured?

We have two manufacturing locations. One is located in Atwood, Kansas. Our Kansas location manufactures nurse trailers, row tracker trailers, cone bottom fertilizer storage trailers, and liquid fertilizer placement tubes.

Our second location is in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Our Nebraska location manufactures the semi sprayer and tender trailers, the Pitstop System, Turbo Tank, chemical tote racks, anti-vortex fittings, fertilizer tubes, and gooseneck trailers.

We have customers from all across the United States.

Does JD Skiles sell nationwide?
We do sell our trailers, systems, and products nationwide. With customers all across the USA and even a few customers in Canada.

What makes JD Skiles trailers and systems unique?

All of our trailers and systems can be customized to fit your specific needs, with several different options and features available. We strive to make trailers and systems that make your life easier and your agriculture operations more efficient, understanding not everyone needs or wants the exact same thing. Our goal is to make quality trailers and systems that bring you the best return on your investment.

What’s the benefits to cone bottom tanks vs leg tanks on nurse trailers?

Nurse trailers come with either cone bottom tanks or leg tanks. The benefit of cone bottom tanks is their design to provide an easy and complete drain of the liquid being stored, no matter the slope of the trailer; making cone bottoms a very popular choice. Furthermore, the round and compact design of cone bottom tanks reduces the amount of liquid sloshing when starting and stopping, making them drive very smooth. Also, they are easier to clean because of the smooth sides. One downside is that the tank is wider, so it is harder to see the lights on a pickup.

Leg tanks provide the benefit of a narrower design when using smaller tanks. Larger leg tanks provide solid stability and some leg tanks come with a more complete drain design.

How fast can you load a sprayer with the Pitstop System?

Load times from our Pitstop Chemical Mixing and Transfer System range from 5 to 12 minutes; just depending on how many products you are using. The Pitstop system does not use any electronics, so it’s a great choice if you don’t want to worry about dirt getting into your electronics or having your electronics malfunction unexpectedly. Even with no electronics the Pitstop System still provides fast, simple, accurate, and competitive load times for your crop spraying applications.

Do you deliver trailers and systems or does the customer have to pick them up?

There are a few different options available as far as pick-up and delivery of trailers and systems.

1. FOB Shipping Point The trailers or systems can be picked up from one of our two locations: Atwood, Kansas or Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

2. We do work with freight companies to deliver trailers or systems for a charge. (Pricing depends on multiple factors; size of trailer/system, location, etc…)

3. We do offer delivery for a charge. We can’t offer delivery to every location though, and pricing depends on location and distance. Reach out for availability of this service if interested.
